Deborah L. Easley

Deborah Easley is a California Gourd Society member who has moved from Marin County to live in a retreat at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountains in Colorado. She would enjoy hearing from CGS members by e-mail at origin@ctelco.net. Vist her website for more information on her work. She writes, "During this time of quiet, I hope to deepen my knowledge of sacred symbology and allow it to flow into future gourd art creations."

Gourd Art "Illuminarium":

Asymmetrically woven green pine needles around purple and green patina stained gourd; accented with dichroic glass bead; UV protective finish; Gourd measures 8” diameter x 7”.
"Egyptian Spirit People" won 3rd place in the painted/stained category at the 2nd Annual CGS Gourd Art Show in June.

"Purple Passion Wormhole" is named for its purple interior and incorporation of a naturally occurring wormhole in the lid’s design. The overall design is based on traditional "4-directions" symbology.

"Red Orchids" is a woodburned and stained all-over floral pattern with petals and leaves forming the lip of the vessel. The concept was drawn from Deborah’s background in textile and surface pattern design.
