Nadine
Spier has been decorating gourds and weaving baskets since the mid-1980’s.
As a child she spent many happy hours using a woodburning kit, then rediscovered
woodburning a few years ago. Nadine passes along her skills to students
in her gourd classes which are offered in many locations in Southern
California. She is also a well-known
basketmaker whose artistic vessels are exhibited internationally. She is
the recipient of the Handweavers Guild of
American Award of Excellence, in addition to many First Places and Best of
Show. Articles about Nadine have been published in many magazines and
newspaper articles and in 2002 she was featured on the Discovery Channel. For
